A partnership between Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Artful Travelers and your local PBS stations across America, this 10-night itinerary sails aboard the award-winning Regent Seven Seas Voyager, which exemplifies luxury perfected. Beginning in picturesque Amsterdam and sailing to many of Europe’s most treasured ports, before disembarking in Southampton, all the while offering travelers access to some of the country’s most fascinating people – those with their fingers on the pulse of politics, history, current events, finance, and the arts. A special programming focus will comemmorate the anniversary of the end of WWII, with an optional shore excursion to the D Day landing beaches and other exploratory endeavors and presentations from expert voices in the fields of history and military.
To commemorate the 101st anniversary of the end of WWI and the 76th anniversary of the end of WWII on this specially-curated voyage, we welcome aboard producers and editors of major PBS series on the histories of The Great War, World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Supporters and friends of PBS will gather to celebrate the acclaimed history, news and current events programming of public broadcasting entities in America. Learning leisure at its absolute finest.

- Erik Ewers: Director, producer and editor Erik Ewers has been collaborating with PBS filmmaker Ken Burns for over 30 years on almost every one of Ken’s films, including Lewis & Clark, Baseball, Jazz, Mark Twain, The War, The National Parks, The Roosevelts, The Vietnam War, and his latest miniseries Country Music. Erik’s work has been recognized by his peers with two ACE Eddie Award nominations for editing and more than 10 Emmy nominations, and received both an ACE Award and 3 Emmy Awards for best Non-Fiction Programming and Sound Editing. Additionally, Erik has been collaborating with his brother Christopher to form Ewers Brothers Productions, and over the past 15 years they have created short-form documentaries, promotional films, and feature length documentaries, including The Mayo Clinic: Faith, Hope, Science which aired on PBS in 2018. The Ewers Brothers are currently working on a PBS miniseries on today’s mental health crisis, and a historical film on Henry David Thoreau. Erik is also senior editor of a miniseries on the life and writing of Ernest Hemingway, which will air on PBS in 2021;
- Stephen Ives: Acclaimed American documentary film director and original founder of Insignia Films. Among his productions are The West (1996), Reporting America at War (2003), Roads to Memphis (2010), and Grand Coulee Dam (2012), and the four-part series Constitution USA (2013) which aired on PBS in the summer of 2013. His most recent work, The Great War, aired in three parts in 2017;
- Stephanie Carter: Executive Producer of the Emmy-nominated series Secrets of the Dead, now in its 18th season. One of Carter’s first commissions as Executive Producer for Secrets of the Dead was “World War Speed”, an examination of the use of amphetamines by both Nazi and Allied forces during World War II. With a desire to mark the significant World War II anniversaries happening in 2020, she is bringing “Bombing Auschwitz” to PBS to tell the story of how the Allies wrestled with whether or not to destroy the death camp and all its occupants to prevent the camp from taking more lives in the future;

- LTG (Ret.) Daniel W. Christman: Senior Counselor for International Affairs, U.S. Chamber of Commerce Senior Counselor to the President, U.S. Chamber of Commerce Member, Council on Foreign Relations, Member of the Board of Directors of Entegris Corporation, Teradyne; LTG (Ret.) Daniel W. Christman is responsible for advising the Chamber’s senior leadership on national security and international issues affecting the business community. He previously served as senior vice president for International Affairs at the Chamber, where he oversaw a team of dozens of policy analysts and program coordinators committed to global business engagement on behalf of the Chamber’s worldwide membership. Christman, a career military officer who retired from active duty in 2001, served for five years as the superintendent of the United States Military Academy at West Point. He also served for two years as assistant to the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, during which time he traveled with and advised Secretary of State Warren Christopher. He was centrally involved during this period with negotiations between Israel and Syria as a member of the Secretary’s Middle East Peace Team. Further, Christman represented the United States as a member of NATO’s Military Committee in Brussels, Belgium. Christman has written and lectured extensively on leadership and national defense, including the ongoing war against international terrorism. He also served as a military analyst for CNN International during Operation Iraqi Freedom. During the Gulf War in 1991, he headed a strategic planning group that advised the Army’s chief of staff on war prosecution policies. Graduating first in his class from West Point, Christman also received MPA and MSE degrees in public affairs and civil engineering from Princeton University and graduated with honors from The George Washington University Law School. He is a decorated combat veteran of Southeast Asia, where he commanded a company in the 101st Airborne Division in 1969. On four occasions, Christman has been awarded the Army and Defense Distinguished Service Medal, which is the Defense Department’s highest peacetime award. - Christine Andreas’ shows in NY at Feinsteins’ 54Below Love Is Good, be-Mused, Cafe Society and Piaf, No Regrets had the New York Times accusing her of "...electrifying her audiences, transforming them with pure alchemy and delicately killing with the sheer beauty of her voice.” On Broadway, this multiple-award-winning singer, actress, and two-time Tony nominee starred as Jacqueline in La Cage aux Folles with Kelsey Grammer, and created the role of Marguerite St. Just in The Scarlet Pimpernel. She captured theatergoers hearts as Eliza Doolittle in the 20th anniversary production of My Fair Lady (Theatre World Award), Oklahoma! (Tony Nomination) and On Your Toes (Tony Nomination). She starred as Margaret Johnson in the national tour of The Light in the Piazza and on Londons West End in The Fields of Ambrosia. Concerts include The White House, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, Café Carlyle, garnering her the prestigious Mabel Mercer award and the 2016 Bistro Award for Ongoing Artistry in Concert and Cabaret. - Julie Garnyé is an actress, singer, voiceover artist, writer and director. She was most recently seen as an original cast member of the first national tour of the Broadway hit COME FROM AWAY. She can still occasionally be seen as Bulda/Queen Iduna in Frozen Live at the Hyperion Theatre at the Disneyland Resort in Southern California. On television, Julie most recently appeared as an original cast member of FATWA! The Musical during season nine of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Julie was also the "In Memoriam" soloist for the 2016 Daytime Emmy Awards telecast and was a part of the Les Misérables ensemble for the Academy Awards telecast in 2013. Theatre career highlights include Grizabella in the 5th national tour of the musical CATS, Broadway’s HAIR in Concert and CHESS in Concert at The New Amsterdam Theatre, Jenny Steinberg in the Southern California premiere of It Shoulda Been You, First Things Last at London’s Garrick Theatre and her three appearances at The Hollywood Bowl, including Les Misérables, Chicago and Mamma Mia! Ms. Garnyé has sung with numerous symphony orchestras, including the San Diego Symphony, The Dallas Pops and The LA Philharmonic and has performed with many musical greats including Josh Groban, Carole King, Stephen Schwartz, Kristin Chenoweth, and jazz legend Dave Brubeck. - Michael Sobie is an award-winning performer with credits encompassing film, television, and stage productions. He was most recently the conductor of the North American tour of Ramin Djawadi’s Game of Thrones Live Concert Experience, and has also worked with the composer as keyboardist and assistant conductor of three previous tours as well as being the pianist on soundtracks for the Amazing Stories reboot, A Wrinkle in Time and The Mountain Between Us. Additional screen credits include A Christmas Story: Live for FOX, Hulu’s original documentary, Too Funny to Fail, John Piscitello’s score for Memory Games, and Noah Baumbach’s Golden Globe- and Oscar-winning Marriage Story for Netflix. Michael has toured the US and world as a pianist and conductor of Broadway musicals Wicked, Les Miserables, Altar Boyz, Aida, and Xanadu, and has also performed regularly as the pops pianist with the Grand Rapids Symphony Orchestra. Michael is the music director for Grammy-nominated Perla Batalla at her sold-out concerts across North America and for Sing: On Tour and Universal Monsters Live at Universal Studios in Osaka, Japan. He has acted as a vocal coach and/or pianist for such artists as Il Divo, Scarlett Johansson, Carole Cook, Bruce Vilanch, Tamyra Gray, Cole Escola, and the Los Angeles Ballet, with which he performed the iconic celeste solo for their production of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker. In summer of 2019, he and Shawn Ryan wrote their first full-scale musical, Hell on Earth, garnering the pair and cast rave reviews after their New York City premiere in January 2020, featuring Broadway's Anthony Rosenthal and Tony Award winner Laurie Metcalf.
