Itinerary Changes for 2020

As with so many facets of the travel industry, our planned 2020 itineraries have been significantly impacted by the COVID-19 health crisis. All cruise travel has been cancelled until at least July 1, 2020 or until cruise lines meet new CDC guidelines. Regent is proactively implementing several preventative measures to address the CDC requirements and hope to be back at sea as soon as possible. While new sailing dates are pending, we wanted to share important information for those that are currently booked or considering joining us on one or more of our upcoming adventures:

  • Our May 2020 sailing, Commemorating the World Wars, has been postponed. We are currently in discussions with our valued partners at Regent to decide on a new itinerary, including a visit to the beaches of Normandy. This re-scheduled adventure will set sail either in late August aboard the Seven Seas Splendor or in 2021. We hope to have more news for you very soon. Originally scheduled speakers and performers whose availability permits will join us to produce the original program on a new sailing when a date is confirmed.
  • We regret that we have cancelled the Spotlight on Wines: The Harlan Family Domain, originally scheduled for a June 2020 sailing. We have also cancelled the Pre-Cruise Land Program at Meadowood Napa Valley Resort and Spa. Will Harlan, Managing Director of the Harlan Family Domain, shared, “We hope to reengage Artful Travelers and Regent Seven Seas Cruises guests when this crisis subsides and, together, celebrate wonderful food and fine wines. Hopefully, see you in 2021!” We thank the team at the Harlan Domain, Meadowood and the Regent food and beverage team for all their efforts. Anticipating the experience of Napa’s premiere wines paired with Regent’s six-star culinary experience is motivation to sustain all of us as we weather the next few months.
  • Politic is surely not exempt from the reach of the COVID-19 virus. With recent changes in convention dates, we will move our planned The State of Journalism Today programming from August 2020 to a date later in 2020 or in 2021. Our thought is to return with Judy Woodruff, Al Hunt and Charlie Cook, and others, to do a complete debrief of Election 2020 and a focus on how journalists built and delivered their stories. Imagine that!
  • At this time, our October 2020 sailing, Hooray for Hollywood, celebrating the very best of arts and entertainment aboard the Regent Seven Seas Mariner is scheduled to proceed as planned. The programing for this voyage will be all fun and hopefully a relief after everything that we have and will endure. We will provide updates if this information changes.

New Spotlight on Public Broadcasting sailings will be announced. We’ve committed to work with Regent to support and program cruises later this year and early next year. As new itineraries are announced, probably closer to home, we will provide programming plans and updates to enhance the unrivalled Regent experience. You’ll be the first to know!

Like you, we are realistic in our outlook about the near-term future. The safety and well-being of our friends and cruise family is paramount. We very much look forward to traveling the globe to showcase the very best of public broadcasting and more… when our world returns to a sense of calm and certainty. Until then, we will keep you informed. We are always available to speak with you via email at This email address is being protected from spambots.
